Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost to join?

Dues vary according to your state society and local chapter and whether you are a student or a nonstudent. Learn more.

If I join the AAMA, will I also be a member of a state society and a local chapter?

In most cases, yes. However, these states currently do not have an affiliation with the AAMA:

  • Arizona

  • Delaware

  • Louisiana

  • Maryland

  • Mississippi

  • Rhode Island

  • Vermont

  • West Virginia

  • Wyoming

If you live in one of these states, you would join the AAMA as a "member-at-large" and would not belong to a state society or local chapter.

Also, if you live within an affiliated state, but your residence is not within the service area of any local chapters, you would join as a member-at-large with a national and state affiliation. As a member-at-large, you would enjoy all of the national features and benefits available. Find out whether or not you would be a member of a local chapter

How long is my membership valid?

The dues year begins on September 1. Join on September 1 and get membership through December 31 of the following year.
